Risk Management Policy for MIWIBO Foundation Uganda
6.8.1 Purpose
The purpose of this risk management policy is to outline the approach that MIWIBO Foundation Uganda will take to identify, assess, and manage risks associated with its operations. The policy aims to ensure the continued success of MIWIBO Foundation Uganda by minimizing risks that may threaten the organization's mission, financial stability, integrity, and reputation.
6.8.2 Scope
This risk management policy applies to all employees, volunteers, board members, contractors, and partners of MIWIBO Foundation Uganda.
6.8.3 Objectives of this policy
1. To identify and assess the risks associated with the organization's activities, programs, and services.
2. To establish controls and procedures that mitigate or eliminate identified risks.
3. To ensure that risks are managed in a consistent and systematic manner across the organization.
4. To monitor and review risk management practices regularly to ensure their effectiveness.
5. To embed risk management practices within the culture of the organization.
6.8.4 Risk identification and assessment
MIWIBO Foundation Uganda organization will use a range of methods to identify and assess risks, including:
1. Regular review of external and internal environment changes that may affect the organization's operations.
2. Analysis of the organization's operations, programs, and projects to identify potential risks.
3. Consultation with stakeholders including employees, volunteers, contractors, partners, and clients.
4. Regular analysis of financial data and metrics to identify financial risks.
5. Observation of consistent trends and patterns of performance in risk management efforts.
6.8.5 Risk management controls
MIWIBO Foundation Uganda will implement a range of risk management controls, including:
1. Policies and procedures that minimize the likelihood of risk events occurring.
2. Budgeting and planning for risk response options including insurance policies.
3. A clear delegation of risk management responsibilities across the organization.
4. Regular monitoring and review of risks to maintain an accurate and current understanding of risks.
5. Reporting and escalation protocols to ensure all relevant parties are aware of any risks that are present.
6.8.6 Ongoing monitoring and review
MIWIBO Foundation Uganda will conduct regular monitoring and review of its risk management policies, procedures, and controls, including:
1. Regular evaluation of risk management practices by internal and external reviews.
2. Revision and updating of policies, procedures, and controls as new risks emerge.
3. Reporting of risks, trends, and patterns to the Board of Directors.
4. Compliance with relevant legal requirements and state regulations.

This risk management policy will enable MIWIBO Foundation Uganda to identify, assess, and manage risks effectively and consistently.
