Fundraising Policies

Fundraising policies provide guidelines for the solicitation and management of donations, including donor communication, gift acceptance, and recognition.

This policy applies to all fundraising activities and events conducted by MIWIBO Foundation Uganda and its affiliates.

 

Guidelines

 

6.6.1 Ethical Principles

 

MIWIBO Foundation Uganda is committed to conducting all fundraising activities in accordance with the highest ethical standards. This includes honesty, integrity, respect, and transparency.

 

6.6.2 Fundraising Activities

 

All fundraising activities must be consistent with the mission and goals of MIWIBO Foundation Uganda. Fundraising activities may include:

 

·   Grants and donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations

·   Sponsorship of events and activities

·   Special events, including fundraising galas, auctions, and concerts

·   Online and social media campaigns

·   Legacy giving programs

 

6.6.3 Donor Privacy

 

MIWIBO Foundation Uganda respects the privacy of its donors and is committed to protecting their personal information. All donor information is held in strict confidence and used only for internal purposes.

 

6.6.4 Donor Acknowledgement

 

Donor acknowledgement is essential to building and maintaining relationships with supporters. MIWIBO Foundation Uganda will provide prompt acknowledgement of all donations and appropriate recognition at fundraising events.

 

6.6.5 Gifts In-Kind

 

Gifts in-kind can provide significant support for MIWIBO Foundation Uganda and its programs. All gifts in-kind must be of a type and value acceptable to the organization and in line with its mission.

 

6.6.6 Fundraising Costs

 

All fundraising activities incur costs, such as printing, postage, and rental fees. MIWIBO Foundation Uganda is committed to minimizing fundraising costs to ensure that the maximum portion of donations goes to program and service delivery.

 

6.6.7 Record-Keeping

 

Detailed financial records must be kept for all fundraising activities, including revenue, expenses, and donations. These records must be accurate, complete, and readily available for audit and review.

 

6.6.8 Compliance

 

MIWIBO Foundation Uganda is committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations relating to fundraising activities, including Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) guidelines for registered charities. 

 

6.6.9 Amendments to the Policy:

 

This policy will be reviewed periodically and may be amended by the Board of Directors of MIWIBO Foundation Uganda as needed.
