Human Resources Policies
Human resources policies cover issues such as recruitment, hiring, training, performance management, and termination of staff and volunteers.
The human resources policy of MIWIBO Foundation Uganda will vary depending on the size and scope of the organization. However, below is an example of a human resources policy.
6.3.1 Equal Opportunity Employer
MIWIBO Foundation Uganda is an equal opportunity employer, and hiring decisions are made based on qualifications, skills, and experience. The organization does not discriminate against any applicant or employee on the basis of race, colour, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, veteran status, or disability.
6.3.2 Employment At-Will
The organization adheres to the employment at-will doctrine, which means that either the employee or the organization can terminate the employment relationship at any time. A written notice of the intention to terminate employment should be submitted to the organisation at least two weeks to the end date to allow for smooth operations. The organisation may terminate the employment due to misconduct or bleach of contract and this may happen after a short suspension (to allow investigation) or not.
6.3.3 Salary and Benefits
The organization compensates its employees at a competitive rate and offers a comprehensive benefits package. The benefits package includes health insurance, dental insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, parental leave, and other employee benefits.
6.3.4 Performance Evaluation

Any form of harassment or discrimination will not be tolerated, and employees are encouraged to report any incidents to their supervisor or human resources department.
6.3.7 Confidentiality
The organization maintains the confidentiality of all employee information and expects its employees to maintain the confidentiality of any confidential or proprietary information.
6.3.8 Social Media Policy
The organization has a social media policy that outlines the appropriate use of social media by employees and volunteers. The policy prohibits employees from sharing confidential or proprietary information, posting inappropriate or offensive content, or engaging in any conduct that is detrimental to the reputation of the organization.
6.3.9 Conflict of Interest
The organization has a conflict of interest policy that requires employees to disclose any conflicts of interest that may arise in the course of their work.

The organization has a grievance procedure that outlines the steps employees should take if they have a dispute or concern about their employment. The procedure provides a formal process for resolving any issues or conflicts that may arise.
